Running Late is a light-hearted country song inspired by a challenge from a friend who bet me I couldn’t write a song about clay shooting. Naturally, I took the bet. The song follows every shooter’s nightmare — oversleeping, rushing out the door, grabbing the gun, cartridges and coffee, fighting the traffic and desperately trying to make the shoot on time. Packed with shooting references, country humour and plenty of chaos, Running Late was written to capture the fun side of the sport. Because however seriously we take our shooting, sometimes you’ve just got to laugh, enjoy the day and remember why we started in the first place.
